The 13th Global Estonian Festival, ESTO 2025, will also reach Narva next summer, where the organizers of the festival are meeting with local people until the end of this week to collaborate on this global event.
The selection of the venue for ESTO 2025 was determined through democratic discussions, where all interested parties had a chance to voice their opinions. “The majority leaned towards Stockholm-Narva. It’s the historical background of Sweden and Narva, along with the current challenges, that make Narva attractive,” said Sirle Sööt, the organizer of ESTO 2025 and the chairperson of the Swedish Estonian Association, who also served as the president of ESTO 2019. To be absolutely certain about the decision, she traveled to Ida-Viru County for three days last August during her summer vacation.
